Vehicle Rescue: Awareness

This program of instruction is intended for emergency response personnel who may be called to the scene of a vehicle rescue emergency, and will provide NFPA 1670 Awareness level training to allow personnel to undertake safe initial operations at the scene of vehicle crash or related emergency.  The student will be introduced to the hazards presented by incidents involving vehicle crash and related emergencies, as well as the procedures for the safe, initial response to these types of emergency situations.
Hours: 4 hours of instructor-led classroom lecture
NJ EMT CEUs: approved for 3 Elective CEUs
  
Vehicle Rescue: Operations

This program of instruction is intended for emergency response personnel who may be called to the scene of a vehicle rescue emergency, and will provide NFPA 1670 Operations level training to allow personnel to undertake basic extrication and disentanglement operations at the scene of a vehicle crash emergency.  The student will be introduced to the procedures and equipment required to free victims entrapped in vehicles as a result of a vehicle crash and related emergencies, as well as the procedures for the safe, initial management of these types of emergency situations. 

Hours: 24 hours of instructor-led lecture (8 hours) and practical (16 hours)

NJ EMT CEUs: approved for 8 Elective CEUs

 

 

Vehicle Rescue: Technician

This program of instruction is intended for emergency response personnel who may be called to the scene of a vehicle rescue emergency, and will provide NFPA 1670 Technician level training to safely allow personnel to undertake and manage complex rescue operations at the scene of a vehcile crash or related emergency.  The student will be introduced to the tactics and techniques necessary to safely operate and manage complex vehicle rescue operations at incidents involving serious vehicle crashes and related emergencies. 

Hours: 24 hours of instructor-led lecture (8 hours) and practical (16 hours)

NJ EMT CEUs: approved for 8 Elective CEUs
