EMS-236 - Staging Area Manager for EMS Operations

Course Overview

The purpose of this course is to provide EMS personnel with the skills and knowledge necessary to manage a Staging Area in a large scale operation. This course will cover responsibilities from mobilization to demobilization, including ensuring accountability, resolving communications issues, check-in, resource typing, and establishing and managing a Staging Area

Course Objectives

Working in an interactive classroom environment, our instructors with hands-on, real-world incident command experience will offer instruction in the common responsibilities, procedures and duties of a Staging Area Manager.  They will focus on establishing and performing the check-in process, indentifying and establishing a Staging Area, managing a staging area, and finally the importance of proper demobilization upon completion of an assignment.  While this course is specific to a large scale EMS operation, the skills and knowledge can be easily transferred to an all-hazard, multi-agency Staging Area.
