Course Overview

This light-hearted presentation addresses the second most frequent cause of on-the-job injuries in EMS.  The discussion includes a review of NJ Department of Health & Senior Services regulations, hazards associated with restraints for both providers and patient, and a review of medical maladies associated with restraints. 

 

Audience

Any EMT, Paramedic, Police Officer or other first responder who may come into contact with a patient requiring restraint.

 
NIMS Compliance

This course is NIMS compliant and meets the NIMS Baseline Training requirements for ICS-100.

 
Length of Course

Approximately 90 minutes in length, and has been described as interactive and informative.
