Ground Support Unit Leader for EMS Operations
Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide EMS personnel with an introduction to the role and responsibility of the Ground Support Unit Leader in support of a large scale incident. This course will cover responsibilities from mobilization to demobilization, including relevant ICS forms, planning the unit, managing the unit, and coordination with other functional areas.
The class will consist of lecture as well as facilitated group discussions and scenario reviews. Areas covered will include:

Incident Management Staff who may be assigned to work or manage a Ground Support Unit at the scene of a Level 3 or larger incident
Prerequisites
EMT Basic or Paramedic
- ICS-200
- EMS Response to Large Scale Incidents: Awareness
