CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace
Course Overview
CPR-AED for the Community and Workplace provides individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency. Note: This program is not meant for EMS or other emergency providers who are required to perform CPR skills as part of their response duties.
Course Objectives
This American Safety & Health Institute program uses a mix of classroom instruction, powerpoint and hands-on skill stations, the students will be be able to recognize the signs of sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke, foreign-body obstruction, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation with an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Audience
Persons who do not work in the healthcare field but are occupationally required to, or desire to, have CPR knowledge and skills, such as emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, sport coaches, teachers, parents and babysitters.
Certifications
All students who successfully complete the written exam and demonstrate performance of the practical skills will recieve a certification card, with a recommended 2 year renewal.
