Large Scale Air Medical Operations for EMS
Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to provide EMS personnel with an introduction to the use of multiple helicopters in support of medical operations for a large scale incident. This course will cover such topics as routine use of helicopters, transition to a "large scale incident", management positions within the Air Operations Branch, resolving communications issues, establishing a Helispot, planning and risk management. This course is in support of the Statewide Helicopter EMS Helibase Management Plan developed by the NJ EMS Task Force and the NJ State Police Aviation Bureau.
Course Format
This Basic Air Operations class will consist of lecture as well as facilitated group discussions and scenarios that will reinforce the course content.

Audience
The course is open to any EMS personnel who meet the pre-requisites for the course listed above.
NIMS Compliance
This course is NIMS compliant and meets the NIMS Baseline Training requirements
